PADI Professional, Shop Staff & Receptionist
Low Key Watersports is looking for experienced PADI Dive Professionals who are passionate about diving but also want to spend time working in our retail shop and behind the scenes taking reservations 2-3 days per week. The other days you would work guiding dives and teaching classes. Divemasters, there is potential to work towards your instructor rating while you are here. Qualified candidates are willing to work hard, not be afraid of getting their hands dirty and be excited to work for a company that is always striving to do more. The right candidate would be filling a role as either a shop staff, a reservationist, or serving as a dive guide and instructor for our fleet of 3 dive boats. The perfect candidate would be a PADI Professional who is willing and interested in teaching and guiding dives. We currently do a lot of Discover Scubas and take certified divers on daily dives, the training program is growing so the more you are able to teach, the better.
We are a PADI 5 Star IDC Center but have not hosted IDCs since the big hurricanes. We have plans to reintroduce the professional programs better than ever.
We would expect you to be outgoing, experienced, safe, flexible, and understand that our guests are our top priority. We are looking for team players that would never use the phrase “that’s not my job” when asked to do something. We would expect you to have the utmost integrity and always do your best.
A normal workday on the dive boat consists of 2-morning dives, 2-afternoon dives, and possibly a night dive. The typical day is usually 10-hours. As a shop staff or reservations, a normal day would be 8-10 hours, sometimes on your feet all day, waiting on guests, receiving products for our store, marking products, assisting with check-ins, cleaning snorkel gear, answering phones, and possibly a multitude of other tasks. A normal workweek is 40-50 hours for our full-time crew but could be more during holidays. Exceptional communication skills and an outgoing personality are key ingredients to being successful with our company.
